Anyone who volunteers with the students, must follow the rules established by the Diocese of Joliet before they can volunteer in any capacity. Parents must attend a Protecting God’s Children class, submit a background check, complete a DCFS form and read and sign a Pastoral Acknowledgment before they can volunteer. We help all parents with the class schedule and forms to meet this requirement.
Parent and School Association (PSA)
The PSA offers a wide variety of activities and programs for the students, school families and the school staff. Parents are automatically members of the PSA once they become a school family. The PSA meets monthly and all parents are welcome. Recent activities include:
- Out to Dinner Nights
- Halloween Spooktacular
- Santa’s Secret Workshop
- Daddy Daughter Dance
- Grandparent's Day
Athletic Association & Coaching
The St. Pius Athletic Association is an advisory group provides guidance to ensure students have positive, Christian, experiences. The Athletic Board meets the first Tuesday of every month. Volunteer coaches guide students through the field of athletic competition during the volleyball, basketball and track seasons.
From long-term strategic planning to marketing and public relations, St. Pius utilizes parent-driven committees to assist the school in its day-to-day and future planning. As a need is identified, volunteer committees are developed to take advantage of the skills our community offers.
The School Board is an advisory group that discusses, considers and recommends ways to ensure students receive the best educational experience possible. A discernment process is held each spring for parents and parishioners who are interested in serving on the School Board. The School Board meets monthly and meetings are open to the public. The School Board also has special committees to provide service to the school as needed.
